Fear in 2007 By: Tami Stickler
The great President FDR once said, "We have nothing to fear but
fear itself". All the things that can give us the creepy crawlies and
make us tremble with fright will be featured in this year's Pride of the
Mountains show entitled "Fear". The band has been working on the
show since early July in preparation for this fall's season which begins
at Beechwood High in early September. They have just finished two weeks of
camp where they have learned the music and practiced the drill. It has
been a super two weeks and the Pride has had a lot of fun as well
perfecting their show. The show focuses on things that frighten us an will
feature exciting music as well as a head turning drill. Make plans to join
us this fall as we excite and fright our audiences across Kentucky on our
way to state finals at Papa John's Stadium in October.
The band and boosters would like to thank the community for their
support of the recent Bingo. The cakewalk will be coming up at the
Homecoming Fair and we would love to entertain you that evening. Check out
the band's website on the Lee County schools page under extra-curricular
activities for an update on all the contests and locations this fall.

Lee County Band begins season
By: Tami Stickler
Marching band season is just around the corner and preparations are
being completed for another exciting fall with the Pride of the Mountains.
The kids have started the countless hours of hot days in the sun as
practices are already underway and camp is coming up. Camp and summer
practices are when the band learns their music and show. The show's theme
this year is "FEAR" and showcases an intricate drill and
exciting music that features all things scary! You will be frightened but
much entertained this fall with this interesting in-up!
The band is under the direction of Tony Barrett with help from field
commander Summer Griffin as well as flag tech Teresa Brinegar and
percussion tech Brandon Griffith.
Also, visit our wonderful website designed by band booster Candy Bryant
on the Lee County Schools website, it will give you all kinds of
information about what your Pride of the Mountains Band is up to!
